Getting started

What is a virtual visit?

It is similar to a visit to your doctor’s office but it is conducted online by video chat.

Are there any age restrictions?

MD Kids connect is available for patients 0-18 years old.

How do I connect?

Visits take place by video chat using the camera on your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

You will create an account for the parent/guardian first, and then add your child to that account.

Which Insurance or Medicaid is accepted?

Most health plans are accepted. Self-pay cost for visit is $40

How much does a virtual visit cost?


If using my computer, what browsers are compatible?

Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

Is the video connection private and secure?

Yes, MD Kids connect uses a private and secure platform. However, it’s important that you find a private space where you can talk freely with the medical provider.

How do I add a child or dependents under the age of 18 to my account?

A parent or legal guardian should first create an account and request a virtual visit.  When you click on “Start visit” you’ll be asked whether it’s for you or your child, you would then add your child’s information.

When are medical providers available through MD Kids connect?

MD Kids connect is an after hours urgent care service. We are available Mon-Fri 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Sat 12:00pm to 8:00pm and Sun 10:00am to 6:00pm

Do I need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network to use the app?

When using your mobile device, a wi-fi connection is recommended. For the best experience and quality, ensure that you have a strong signal (4-5 bars) when connected to a cellular network.   Also, a minimum bandwidth of 3 Mb/s upload/download is recommended.

Can my child be prescribed medication?

If the medical provider considers it necessary, he or she is able to send a prescription to your preferred pharmacy.

How can I request a doctor’s excuse letter for school?

  1. During the visit, ask your medical provider. We would be sending you the letter to the e-mail you provided when the account was created. This e-mail will be sent secured.
  2. After the visit, send us an e-mail or give us a call at 1-888-776-5894.

How can I access my medical record?

After the visit, you’ll received an invitation to access your medical portal where you will be able to review your visit summary.

I ended the visit with the provider but forgot to mention something.

You may request a new visit.

Can I schedule a virtual visit?

No, however you may request a visit on demand anytime during our hours of operation Mon-Fri 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Sat 12:00pm to 8:00pm and Sun 10:00am to 6:00pm.

What is the recommended internet speed?
